Fourteen X Los Bangeles: Common Kin

In the feature ‘brands & trends’ we periodically interview the people behind inspiring design/fashion and lifestyle brands about how they build their success, as an inspiration for us and the business we are in and for everyone else in the field.

This month Fourteen joined forces with our friends from Los Bangeles, a lifestyle blog inspired by the City of Angels, to write a ‘Talking brands’ feature about the rise and success of Common Kin, a store specialized in upscale menswear with a strong international appeal and customer base. They offer a wide range of sophisticated brands like A.P.C., Marni, Alexander Wang, Stutterheim and Common Projects. An impressive list to say the least.

Their aim is to combine off- and online presence in the most effective way not letting themselves hold back by country boundaries or other ‘obstacles’ to reach an international audience. Johan Stork, co-owner: ‘we want to breath new life in the market and to create the right balance between the off- and online world’. They just opened a pop-up store in Rotterdam.

We talked to Johan about their inspiration, aspirations and the road to success.
